Is it hard to get around Miami if you don’t know Spanish?
It can certainly be a challenge to traverse through the city without knowing Spanish since about 60% of the population here speaks it and the majority of blue-collar workers are new immigrants. Luckily I speak English and Spanish fluently since I grew up in the American educational system while speaking Spanish at home. I can make your journey through Miami all that more comfortable.
Where do you get your information from?
I have a variety of sources that range from physical historical place-markers that are throughout the city, several books I own, cultural institutions, and of course the internet. My favorite books are Miami: A Cultural History by Anthony Maingot and Miami: Then & Now by Arva Moore Parks and Carolyn Klepser
How long have you been a tour guide? And why did you decide to become one?
I started tour guiding in the summer of 2017 at the ripe age of 20. I was previously working in a small office where I was the sole manager and was mostly indoors by myself all the time. I was also in community college so there wasn’t a big community vibe and overall I needed to change something. I’ve since graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor in International Business and do tour-guiding as a passion project/ freelance.
Why should I trust you?
I can tell you how great I am but the best way for you to know is through customer testimonials!
